  • The Mayali Pass Trek is an exciting adventure in the Garhwal Himalayas. It covers a distance of 98 kilometers and reaches a maximum altitude of 5,300 meters.
  •  The trek starts from Ghuttu village and ends at Gaurikund. 
  • It takes about 12 days to complete and is considered a difficult level trek.

Itinerary For Mayali Pass Trek

Day 1 - Rishikesh To Ghuttu

Ghuttu

  • On the first day of your Mayali Pass Trek, you'll start from Rishikesh and head towards Ghuttu village, which is around 138 kilometers away. The journey will take about 8 to 9 hours. Once you reach Ghuttu, you'll check-in to your hotel and have a relaxing overnight stay

Day 2 - Ghuttu to Reehi

Reehi

  • On the second day of your Mayali Pass Trek, you'll trek to Reehi village, about 7-8 kilometers uphill from Ghuttu. Along the way, you'll pass through the beautiful village of Deolang, with its lush green scenery. You'll reach Reehi by evening and stay overnight at a GMVN rest house or in a tent.

Day 3 - Reehi to Gangi

Gangi

  • On the third day of your Mayali Pass Trek, you'll embark on a 12-kilometer hike from Reehi village to Gangi village. After about an hour of climbing, you'll reach Buranschauri. From there, it's another 2 to 3 hours of trekking to reach Gangi, which sits at an elevation of around 2,500 meters. Once you arrive in Gangi, you'll have a cozy overnight stay in your tent.

Day 4 - Gangi to Kharsoli

Kharsoli

  • On the fourth day of the trek, we'll hike from Gangi village to Kharsoli, which is about 15 kilometers away. This trail will lead us through the enchanting Deokhri Channi, which is a winter encampment for the Gangi villagers. We'll also pass through breathtaking lush forests before reaching the picturesque meadow of Khasoli, where we'll spend the night in our cozy tents

Day 5 - Trek from Kharsoli To Chowki

Chowki

  • On the fifth day, you'll start your trek from Kharsoli to Chowki, which is about 12 kilometers away. Chowki is located at a height of 4,000 meters above sea level. After a rewarding day of trekking, you'll camp by the serene Doodh Ganga river and spend the night in your tent.

Day 6 - Chowki to Masar Tal

Masar Tal

  • On this day, you'll trek uphill for a bit and then descend to the stunning Masar Tal. It's situated at around 3,000 meters above sea level. After a 5 to 6-hour downhill journey, you can pitch your tent by the calm lake and enjoy the scenery.

Day 7 - Masur Tal to Vasuki Tal trek

Vasuki Tal

  • Bright and early on the seventh day, you'll trek a trail of about 3 kilometers and reach the stunning Vasuki Tal. This gorgeous lake is located at an elevation of approximately 4800 meters above sea level. After a challenging uphill journey of about 6 to 7 hours, you can set up your tent by the picturesque lake and spend the rest of the day immersing yourself in the breathtaking wilderness.

Day 8 - Vasuki Tal to Kedarnath

Kedarnath

  • On this day, you'll trek about 5 kilometers to the religious town of Kedarnath from Vasuki Tal. It will take around 3 to 4 hours to reach Kedarnath, where you can explore the temple and spend the night in a guesthous

Day 9 - Kedarnath To Gaurikund

Gaurikund

  • After a delicious breakfast, you'll embark on a downhill trek of 14 kilometers from Kedarnath to reach Gaurikund. Once you arrive in Gaurikund, you'll have a comfortable overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 10 - Transfer from Gaurikund To Rishikesh

Rishikesh

  • Your Mayali Pass Trek will wrap up on this day, and after a scrumptious breakfast, you'll head to Rishikesh from Gaurikund. The journey will take around 8 to 9 hours, and you'll reach Rishikesh in the afternoon. From there, you can continue your journey back home
